The Colombian economy will expand 4.15% in 2011, according to a survey of top executives by the central bank.
The figure is at the bottom of the central bank’s official target of 4% to 4.5% growth for 2011. The poll, which was carried out in January, shows that the executives surveyed expect inflation to come in for 2011 within the central bank’s target of 2% to 4%.
Inflation for the last 12 months in Colombia stands at 3.4% while the government expects that the economy expanded 4.5% in 2010.
The poll also shows that the executives expect the peso to close the year at COP1,902.90 against the dollar. On Thursday, the peso traded at COP1,898.60.
