A USB containing a message from the FARC was delivered to Piedad Cordoba by one of the hostages released Wednesday, announced Piedad Cordoba Thursday night.
According to Cordoba, a lead facilitator in the recent release of six FARC hostages, a USB containing a message from FARC leader Guillermo Leon Saenz, alias “Alffonso Cano,” was given to one of the final hostages freed on Wednesday, February 16, 2011.
The message alerted Cordoba that in the coming days Alfonso Cano will attempt to make contact with her.
“There is a statement from “Cano” that we are waiting to see if they put on Anncol, they have not posted yet, we are going to wait,” the ex-senator told Canal Caracol. Anncol is an online news publication that frequently posts press releases by the FARC.
The commander of Colombia’s armed forces asked Colombia Friday to have patience for the inevitable capture of FARC leader Alfonso Cano.
