Helicopters have taken off from the southern Colombian town of Florencia on their way to collect two more FARC hostages, Piedad Cordoba Tweeted Friday morning.
Carrying a delegation consisting of Cordoba, members of Colombians for Peace and the Red Cross, the helicopters are flying to an undisclosed release site for which the FARC have provided coordinates.
All military operations in the area have been ceased by Colombian armed forces since 6PM Thursday. They are on hold for a 24-hour period.
The team is due to fly back to Bogota this Friday afternoon with the hostages – Armando Acuña and Henry Lopez Martinez – who will then be reunited with their families.
This is the second phase of the release operation with hostage Marcos Baquero being released on Wednesday.
The final two hostages will be liberated on Sunday from a different location.
