Colombian power generator Emgesa S.A. E.S.P sold the $400 million it offered in 10-year bonds denominated in Colombian pesos and payable in dollars, the company said Friday in a statement.
Demand for the bonds was three times as much as the $400 million sold, said Emgesa, an affiliate of the Chilean energy holding company Grupo Enersis (ENI, ENERSIS.SN). Emgesa said in a statement that the bond sale was the first international peso-denominated bond issue by a Colombian firm.
The 10-year senior unsecured notes where priced at par at a yield of 8.75% and carry a coupon of also 8.75%.
