The Virgin Mary has made her first appearance in Colombia of 2011, newspaper Diario del Huila reported Tuesday.
According to the south Colombian newspaper, the image of the virgin appeared on the floor of a house in the village of La Plata.
Residents of the house have been trying to get rid of a stain on the floor since early December and stopped after they concluded it was not a normal stain, but a divine appearance of the Mother of God.
The owners of the house have opened their residence to neighbors, who have been flocking to pay tribute to the Virgin.
The Catholic Church has not yet verified the appearance as a miracle. Skeptics say the Virgin is a rust stain caused when the two daughters of the house were washing their dad’s motorbike.
