Bogota’s Festival Centro 2011 has booked a fascinating range of musical acts including Mexican garage rock icons Los Locos del Ritmo, Argentine digital cumbia act El Remolon and Peruvian child star Wendy Sulca.
The festival, to run from February 19 until February 23, is supposed to be the indie counterweight to Rock al Parque, Latin America’s largest free festival which is held in the Colombian capital every September.
Festival Centro has so far booked 30 artists from all over the continent, representing many different styles.
Apart from the acts mentioned above, scheduled to play are Argentine art rockers The Plasticos, New York- based psychadelic cumbia / camp band Chicha Libre, “The Argentine Brian Eno” Daniel Melero and a bunch of other acts impossible to imagine in a single line-up.
Tickets to the indoor festival are COP10,000.
