Colombia is promoting its national parks as eco-tourism destinations, reminding visitors that 25 of the country’s national parks offer facilities for those seeking an environmentally friendly holiday.
“I invite all Colombians and foreign visitors to go to national parks for their vacations and their weekends to experience an encounter with Colombia’s most beautiful scenery,” said National Parks director Julia Miranda.
Miranda stressed the progress of eco-tourism in the parks and said that infrastructure, lodging, restaurants and trade has improved.
There are many activities for tourists in the parks including diving, snorkeling, nature walks, bird and whale watching, she added.
The national parks of Colombia expect to host 100,000 tourists by during this year’s holiday season.
