Two Colombian former soldiers were found guilty of committing a “false-positive” murder of a civilian in order to inflate kill statistics and sentenced to 32 years in prison, W Radio reported Wednesday.
Former army commander Mayor Gustavo Enrique Soto Bracamonte was found guilty of the abduction and murder of businessman Euardo Perez Vega in 2008.
Perez was killed and later reported as a member of the FARC guerrilla group who died in combat.
Lieutenant John Alexander Soacha Florian was also involved in the killing and was sentenced to 28 years in prison.
