Colombia’s former President Alvaro Uribe on Saturday said he wants Congress to publicly conduct the investigation into his role in the illegal wiretapping of Supreme Court judges, journalists, politicians and human rights workers.
On his personal Twitter account, the former president wrote “Publish this: ‘Ex President Uribe asks Accusation’s Commission that the investigation against him be public’.”
The Accusation’s Commission of the House of Representatives is investigating the former head of state after his chief of staff and several intelligence executives were barred from office for 18 years for the illegal wiretapping of dozens of magistrates, journalists, politicians and human rights organizations who were considered inconvenient for the former president.
