The legendary Orquesta Aragon, known as “The Mother of the Cuban Charangas” will play Cartagena on October 16.
The Grammy-nominated Cuban band will perform for one night only, at 8PM in the Convention Center.
They will be playing songs from their most recent work, “Sonido de Siempre.”
Orquesta Aragon was formed in 1939, and is known as the best “charanga” in Cuba during the 1950s and 1960s.
The group’s sound is a fusion of bolera, charanga, and danzon with influence from salsa, rap, reggae, and rock. They utilize the guiro, flute, bass, piano, violin, cello, and other instruments in their music.
Based out of Havana, the group has played all around the world and is an institution of Cuban music.
