A soldier has murdered three of his colleagues inside an army base in the north of Colombia, local authorities said Monday.
According to the National Army’s 7th Division, the incident happened in the army base of Llanos de Cuiva, a township in the Yarumal municipality in the center of the Antioquia state.
The army initially reported two deaths and one injury. However, hours later, Antioquia Government Secretary Santiago Londoño, responsible for security, said the injured soldier had also passed away.
The 7th Brigade said the multiple homicide was an “act of intolerance.”
The alleged killer, who had been in the army for nine years, was arrested and handed over to judicial authorities.
