A 70-year old German national has been arrested in the north of Colombia together with 19 others for allegedly being a member of neo-paramilitary group the Urabeños.
Wilhelma Katharina Krederlbach Geb Jansen was arrested and presented to the press on Tuesday in the Caribbean city of Santa Marta where the German reportedly had been living for 25 years.
The German national is accused of being an Urabeños ally because she hired the feared neo-paramilitary group to retrieve jewelry and money that had been stolen from her home, said Police. One of the alleged thieves subsequently was murdered, allegedly at the order of Krederlbach Geb Jansen.
The branch of the neo-paramilitary organization the German allegedly hired is accused of having committed a dozen other homicides in Santa Marta where the Urabeños have been at war with a local group, tied to the family of extradited warlord Hernan Giraldo.
All suspects, including Krederlbach Geb Jansen, have been charged with conspiracy, aggravated homicide, forced disappearance and terrorism.
