Bogotá police are offering a 50 million peso (US$24 thousand) reward
for information that leads to those guilty of setting off six bombs in
Bogotá Thursday, local authorities announced Thursday.
The bombs left sixteen people mildly injured across Colombia’s capital and caused mostly material damage.
The bombs all exploded in trashcans and were detonated by an electronic timer.
Mayor Samuel Moreno said the bombs had nothing to do with the anti-government marches going on in the capital. He considered it more probable someone was trying to discredit those organizing the march.
The Police also find it unlikely Colombia’s largest guerrilla group FARC was responsible for the terrorist attack, because the bombs were too small to seriously hurt people.
