Colombia’s national army relieved five commanders of their duty for alleged maltreatment of their subordinates, W Radio reported Thursday.
Army command announced that two officers and three non-commissioned officers assigned to the Military Battalion #15 in Bogota are being investigated for allegations that they committed excesses in the exercise of their command.
The military commander, General Alejandro Navas, rejected the officers’ conduct.
The officers in question have not been dismissed, but have been suspended from duty pending the determination of their responsibility in the matter.
