Four Colombian films will be participating in the upcoming 59th annual San Sebastian International Film Festival, reported El Espectador on Tuesday.
“Todos Tus Muertos” by Carlos Moreno, “Porfirio” directed by Alejandro Landes, “Pescador” an Ecuadorian-Colombian co-production by Sebastian Cordero and “La Playa” by Juan Andres Arango will be representing Colombia in the festival’s “Horizons” section that features the most important Spanish speaking films.
San Sebastian is traditionally one of the biggest events on the Latin American movie calendar because brings a specific selection of films from Latin America, unreleased in Spain, and to compete for the Horizons Award. The Horizons competition is “aimed at increasing knowledge of feature films produced totally or partially in Latin America, directed by filmmakers of Latin origin, set around or dealing with Latin communities in the rest of the world,” the Festival’s website explains.
The Horizons Prize will award the winning film with 35,000 euros, split between the film’s director and the Spanish film importer. The San Sebastian International Film Festival will be ongoing from September 16-24.
