4 coca eradicators killed by landmine

Colombian media report that four workers who were eradicating coca were killed in north-eastern Colombia on Thursday when a landmine exploded.

Earlier reports said the landmine injured 12, but this was corrected by authorities who say four workers were killed and four injured, newspaper El Espectador reported. According to Caracol Radio, four workers were killed and twelve were injured.

The incident happened in the area close to the village of El Tarra in the Norte de Santander department.
