30 injured after bridge collapses in northern Colombia

 

A wooden suspension bridge in northern Colombia collapsed during a religious festival Monday, injuring 30 people.

The injured residents of San Jose de Ure in the northern Cordoba Department were taken to local hospitals after being dumped in to a river below.

“Right now there are five serious injuries and 25 with lesser injuries,” said a statement from Cordoba’s Civil Defense Authority, announced by radio station RCN.
