2 die in Bogota helicopter crash

A commercial helicopter flying from the capital city of Bogota to the department of Tolima crashed Tuesday, killing both pilot and passenger.

According to newspaper El Tiempo, the U.S.-registered aircraft was only 5 miles away from the originating Bogota Guagmaral airport when it crashed.

The press report indicated that those killed in the accident are pilot Juan Pablo Gaviria, and passenger Ricardo Cabrera.

Colombia’s Civil Aeronautics team is currently investigating the causes of the Robinson R66 helicopter crash.
