2 Colombian companies among Latin America’s 10 top brands

State-run oil and gas company Ecopetrol and beer brewer Aguila are the two Colombian companies in a recently released top 10 of the most valuable Latin American brands.

brandsIn the ranking published by New York-based market research company Millward Brown, Ecopetrol occupies the seventh spot followed closely by Aguila which occupies the 10th spot.

Ecopetrol’s brand has a value of $5.1 billion. Aguila’s brand was estimated at $3.9 billion.

Colombia’s other top brands are the country’s largest bank, Bancolombia (18), beer brewer Poker (22) and the Banco de Bogota (23).

The top ten of most valuable brands is led by Mexican beer brewer Corona, followed by Mexican telecommunication provider Telcel and Brazilian beer brewer Skol.

Brazilian brands dominate the top ten, occupying a total of six spots in the ranking.
