Some 1,500 travelers on 10 suspended flights leaving Colombia to the U.S are being rescheduled to accommodate for category one Hurricane Sandy.
Thus far 10 flights from Arianca airlines, scheduled to leave from various Colombian cities to fly to the U.S, have been cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy, ominously barreling toward the U.S’s northern east coast.
Three of the suspended flights were meant to leave Sunday, five scheduled Monday and two on Tuesday, according to newspaper Semana.
Hurricane Sandy already wreaked havoc in the Caribbean, claiming 65 lives in its wake. Sandy has been gaining strength moving northward and is now reported to be 900 miles wide. She is expected to hit the east coast, including the metropolis hub of New York City, full strength by Monday afternoon, according to Fox News.
